A 2020 Vision for Sonoma County

We start now. We must tackle the health crisis in our community. We can't wait for Washington. We can't wait for Sacramento. The time has come for us to join together and take care of ourselves. We're starting with the basics.

We can't do it without you. You can read about our Action Plan here (pdf).

How To Get Involved

Expanding community engagement in improving the health of Sonoma County residents is a key goal of the council. Interested community members are encouraged to attend Health Action and task force meetings.

Background

Welcome to the official website of Health Action, where you will find information about scheduled meetings and progress.

In August 2007, the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors authorized the Department of Health Services to convene a health action council to work on improving health and health care for all Sonoma County residents. Health Action mobilizes collaboration and partnerships among health care providers, community organizations, businesses, and community members to benefit the community by concentrating resources where they are most likely to improve health status.

You can learn more about this effort by reading About Health Action.

Health Action Meetings

All Health Action meetings are open to the public.

Membership

Health Action members were selected for their demonstrated leadership and expertise, and include representatives from key stakeholder sectors identified as critical to the success of the planning process.

Project Design Teams

Five project design teams are working to develop project options for consideration by Health Action:
